Hi Again Guys,
I also had some written work to do over the Xmas break. I had to write a 2000 word essay.
There were 8 questions to choose from. Here’s the one I chose to take-up. It’s titled Drawing.
2. Drawing can be used to explore, reveal, to plan, to protest and to celebrate. Find examples of each of thee reasons, and discuss how they support the claim.
As in the title of the post, this is not complete as I have only done about 300 words so far. Heres how it sits at the moment but I really need to get this finished asap!

Drawing is by no means modern, humans have been using drawings to express themselves for thousands of years. The oldest recorded drawing in the world is 27,000 old. The drawing is in a cave in France, it is drawn on the wall of the cave in Calcium Carbonate, more commonly known as Limestone. The portrait is amongst other drawings in the cave, however it is considered to be the most dated.
Lots of people think drawing can only be putting pen or pencil to paper, but they couldn’t be more wrong. Drawing really means to produce, to produce a image or diagram by making lines and marks. You don’t have to make your marks with a pencil though, for mark-making, you can use almost anything. When I experiment with some mark-making I like to use peculiar and odd items dipped in any sort of ink, paint, or anything similar. It’s incredible how different your drawings look when you use something like a toothbrush or some twigs rather than a regular pen to make your marks.
Drawing is used all the time too and it’s a vital part of our lifestyle. People just don’t notice it, and almost all of the time, they don’t appreciate it, sub-concisely obviously, but nevertheless. There is drawing everywhere in our world, it is everywhere, people don’t pay much attention to still advertisements, posters, logos, the simple helvetica type on road signs and much more. You cant really look at anything man-made without seeing some sort of logo, type or imagery, like I said it’s all right in-front of our eyes- people just notice, personally I can’t help but to notice things such as a nice bit of retro type above an old shop or a clever logo. The Fed-Ex logo is a perfect example, here is a picture so you can see what I mean (can you spot the arrow hidden in the logo?) I think the arrow indicates movement, speed and efficiency, these things are all clear, good advertising points from FedEx.
